FAQs

  • Q. Does my child need speech/language, feeding, or orofacial myofunctional therapy?

Calling to speak directly is highly encouraged. I offer free consultations where I take the opportunity to learn about your concerns in order to determine if an evaluation is warranted.

  • Q. Where do you provide services?

Sun Rises is an in-home therapy practice. I travel to you and provide therapy in the comfort of your home. Being an in-home therapy practice allows the flexibility to also provide services in the child's daycare or school.

  • Q. What does an evaluation with Sun Rises look like?

My mission is to provide comprehensive and functional assessments which allows me to view the whole child and find the root cause of symptoms.

I am holistic in my approach and understand the impacts of sleep, oral habits, and adequate oral motor skills for the development of a child.

Every evaluation includes a thorough oral mechanism exam (checking and evaluating the oral and facial structures), skilled clinical observations, parent/client interview and formal and/or informal assessments.

  • Q. What is the process to begin therapy?

    1. I recommend an initial consultation call to ensure Sun Rises is the perfect fit for you and your family as well as to answer any questions you may have.

    2. If you choose Sun Rises as your provider, it is recommended to contact your child's pediatrician to obtain a prescription for evaluation and treatment.

The prescription can be faxed to this fax number

    3. A digital chart for your child is created and intake forms are sent via a secured Client Portal. Forms are to be completed by parents and/or caregivers.

    4. Once all documentation is completed and received, an evaluation is scheduled. Please note, evaluations are not scheduled until all documentation is received.

  • Q. Do you accept insurance?

  • Q. What should I ask my insurance Company if out-of-network?

    1. Do I have out-of-network benefits for speech therapy?
